Necessary Darkness

Another poem

Some people love it,
Need it every day,
Go out of their way,
Absorb every drop. 

They drink like a sponge,
The smiles and the hands
The words and demands,
And pray it won’t stop. 

Some like I won’t say
Who might pen such words 
Stray from happy herds
When sorrow returns. 

Some take it wrong when
To silence we go
With battery low
To let our thoughts burn.
