The amazing part of the current “body positivity” campaign against “fat shaming” isn’t that it’s killing people.(1) We’ve known for decades that obesity is a health hazard.
No. It’s that people actually thought that putting healthcare costs in the hands of the brokest government in the history of the known universe would lead to anything other than easy policies to reduce the cost of healthcare. What’s easier than sitting around getting fat? We allow the purchase of sodas & chips via SNAP, because…?
JFK made physical education programs a high priority.(2) In elementary schools in the ‘60s, it was a thing. In Jr. High and High School, no one was allowed not to dress-out and we all were required to shower after PE Classes. When my kids were those ages in the early 2110s, few dressed-out, no one showered (meaning that they didn’t exercise hard enough to sweat - no adolescent boy or girl is going to go to their next class if they stink) and only kids interested in sports got any exercise at all.
Encouraging people to become morbidly obese (or, at minimum, society not shaming fat people to change their unhealthy behavior) reduces their long-term impact on the healthcare system as they die-off much younger.
(It also increases the revenue and profits of the Pharmafia via insulin, etc., just as did the manmade Covid bioweapon and the lethal “vaccine.” By sterilizing themselves, “transitioners” also reduce long-term government costs, but those are different posts for another day.)
The majority of healthcare costs are spent on the elderly. If government can get people to kill themselves while young - as Canada is doing with its MAID State murder protocol, and as the West is doing with morbidly obese “influencers” and role models - government costs decrease.
This is true not only for healthcare costs, but for our underfunded Social Security program, as well. If you’ve not read Boomsday, do. (3)
Keep in mind that the same people pushing government healthcare are pushing global depopulation and the anti-progress “climate change” hoax. Anti-progress includes anti-health. To think these are not interconnected is to think night doesn’t follow day.
Government healthcare was never about improving our health; “body positivity” is about degrading it.
Both are about reducing government costs by reducing the population.

I agree that food consumption is out of control. At 69 i'm overweight but certainly not morbidly obese. I exercise almost daily and can work the hell outta a lot of folks way younger than me. I take blood pressure meds and that is pretty much it. I don't eat fast food and 90% of home meals are very healthy type foods. I do believe that genetics are a factor but not an excuse. On my maternal side all my male relatives were short squatty English guys kinda like gnomes. My mom always said that Northern Europeans were prone to weight gain to survive the winter. ;-)
