My cozy tarot Sunday readings are back! A series that was previously on my YouTube channel, is now in written form on my Substack blog!
Happy New Year for tomorrow!!!!
Cozy tarot Sunday is a week a head reading that I post every Sunday! The reading encompasses a focus for the week, a way to embrace the focus, a challenge to overcome, and a card for self-care for the week.
Typically, I’ll post a poll on my YouTube channel in the community tab asking to pick the decks I’ll be using for the month. I will be doing this for next month, so be on the look out.
For the month of January, I decided I’ll be using my Practical Magic Inner Witch Oracle & Tarot by Joseph Benitez-Egerton, who owns Grounded by the Moon.
As always for the self-care portion of the reading, I’ll be sharing the self-care activities from the book Tarot for Self-Care by Minerva Siegel and published by Adams Media.
Using the link above is a great way to support me, this publication, and my YouTube channel.
1- Focus for the week. Phone tree - community
The focus for this week is on community. Think to yourself the following things: What do I consider as my community? Is your community friends, family, organizations you take part in, maybe an online community? How can I be more involved in or with my community? Answering these two questions can bring you closer to understanding how you should focus on that aspect of community, but overall and generally speaking, it’s about being with others in some way or form.
2- How to embrace the focus? Apprentice of air (Knight of swords)
The knight of swords is probably the fastest of all the knights and the most action oriented. So, how can you embrace the focus? Simple. Take action towards doing something community oriented. See your friends more. If you’re on good terms with your family, visit them. If you’re part of a coven, get together with them. You only have an online community? No problem, Zoom, Google Meet, Facetime, Chatting, there are so many ways to connect and have a fun time online. Like volunteering and giving back to your local community? Check out some opportunities! The point is really about putting into motion those ideas that you had earlier about community.
3- A challenge of the week. Judgement
Connecting with community is great as it brings a sense of togetherness for you, but what are you doing to connect with yourself? You might have a hard time with that this coming week, which means doing self-care and perhaps even shadow work, may become important to you in order to connect with yourself more.
When you take time to understand why you’re doing what you’re doing, why do you connect with the things you do or why you don’t connect to them, you understand so much better, and what your needs and wants are. It helps you to move forward. It may even help you to better connect to your community.
4- Self-care of the week. 10 of fire (wands)
The self-care activities are in terms of mind, body, and spirit. Of course, if these self-care activities don’t resonate with you, just make sure you’re doing some kind of self-care for yourself as self-care is very important!
Mind: Don’t take on more work or responsibility than you’re comfortably able to. Remember that it’s okay to say no.1 Boundary setting is the best self-care you can do for yourself.
Body: Combat the side effects of stress by indulging in a deeply moisturizing sheet mask.2 If you have sensitive skin and sheet masks aren’t your thing, try doing your skin care routine instead.
Spirit: Explore your astrological birth chart to get to know yourself and your deepest desires better.3 There are many apps and websites that can interpret your birth chart for you, if you cannot afford to purchase a birth chart reading from a professional.
Until next week, have a good one!
