Night One of Hanukkah
A little backstory…
So, I’m part of this Witch community on an app called Amino (app sometimes has issues/bugs, but the community is amazing).
If you’d like to join the above community, make sure you download the Amino App (free to download and use) and make sure you read the community details to follow the instructions when you request to join!
In this community, there are many different chats, one of which is a chat for Jewish Witches and Pagans. The host of the the chat shared this really interesting infographic (see below image) and it gave me inspiration to create some spreads for Hanukkah.
So, for night one, it’s the light of reason. When I think of reason, I think of the Justice. I thought it would be interesting to use the Justice card as a focal point. However, if you wanted to use oracle with this spread, you totally can, just replace the Justice card with an oracle card that means something similar to Justice or reason as a keyword.
If you take part by using this spread, feel free to tag me on Instagram if you’re on there!
I’ll be using my Sefirot Tarot by Eliot Baum, Georg Hobmeier, Viv Tanner, and James Patton, and published by Hay House. This is the only deck in my collection that feels Jewish to me because it’s based on the Sefirot and Kabballah. So, I’ll be using it for all 8 nights.
1- What is currently unbalanced in my thinking of right and wrong? The wheel of fortune
With the wheel of fortune, I think the unbalance is thinking that things cannot actually change. But in reality, things are always changing, just not always for the right reasons. Maybe I’m shielding myself too much from this reality and not truly understanding where things could be changing for the worst and how to navigate the cycles in a way to change things for the better. Like the guidebook mentions, if something comes up, it must come down, but also, if something is down, it must go up. It’s all about shifts, you cannot have right without wrong, and you cannot have wrong with right. That’s how there’s an equilibrium to life. I just need to make sure for myself that I’m sticking to the right. But I know that there are times that I do wrong towards myself. Maybe that’s how I keep balance, wrong towards myself, right towards others. It’s not fair, and something that I need to work on for me.
2- What do I still need to learn about this going forward? The world
I find it so funny that the world was the next card behind the justice card. This literally the card of completion. In my opinion though, no one ever stops learning, and I think from this card, it’s telling me that I need to begin again. I need to start from the beginning and take the realizations that I have made with the wheel of fortune card and explore them further. Work on the perceptions of myself, how I treat myself compared to how I treat others. Apply the same consideration I give to others to myself.
I’m excited for the next 7 nights of Hanukkah! Be sure to subscribe to join me for more to come!
