I’ve written extensively about Starlink and how it continues to degrade the night sky. I’ll briefly describe that here in case you’re unfamiliar with the product or how it poses a direct threat to ground-based astronomy. The impact is far-reaching, especially as next-generation facilities like the Vera C. Rubin telescope come online.
My most recent piece, Starlink Poses an Existential Threat to Ground-Based Astronomy sums it up pretty well. Although published back in 2020, the piece and the problem (with Starlink) is Evergreen, so to speak, it doesn’t change.
