June 6th, Steve Kirsch mentioned my short film series “UNJABBED” on his excellent Substack. As a result, thousands of his readers have watched the videos and left very encouraging and helpful comments. I thank Steve and his wonderful, smart, independent-minded readers. Many comments express wonder that the vast entertainment industry has failed to produce a major fictional film addressing what we’ve experienced recently.
All through the insanity of the last three years, I also wondered why only a few artists documented what was happening. I wrote about that in this post:
On my social media, I would sometimes read complaints about the entertainment industry not producing films about the lockdowns, the jab mandates and other aspects of the authoritarian onslaught that has effected nearly everyone on the planet. You’d think there’d be a bunch of films about it right? At least films that portrayed a SciFi, dystopian future that took the recently introduced and proposed authoritarianism of the “New Normal” and take it to fictional extreme. I’m sure you can think of at least a dozen such films, mostly decades old. “Soylent Green”, “Robocop” and “1984” come to mind.
But, for various reasons, that didn’t happen. And it’s likely not going to happen for many years. Hollywood made very few films about the Great Depression during the 1930’s and French cinema did not begin to deal with collaboration with the Nazis during the Vichy period until “The Sorrow and the Pity” (1969).
Also, Hollywood and other entertainment factories were shutdown. Many workers in that industry, actors, directors and producers were drafted into the propaganda effort that promoted lockdowns and jabs.
About a year ago, I began working on a series of short films that imagined a dystopian future with an extreme version of the medicalized tyranny that we’ve recently experienced and to some degree, are still experiencing. To my surprise, the first episode was promptly taken down by Vimeo. All three episodes of “UNJABBED” can still be seen on You Tube and Rumble.
Each episode of “UNJABBED” is comprised of scenes hand-drawn on paper, and scanned into a desktop computer. I provide the narration, soundtrack, etc. It’s largely a one-man, low-budget operation. Each episode costs under $100 in art supplies. The upside is I have a great deal of control, the downside is it takes time to craft an episode… so, please be patient.
I am currently working on the next episode of “UNJABBED”. It will be an action-packed armed raid on a fortified Health Department blockhouse. I won’t spoil it, but here’s what’s on my drawing table. Stay tuned!
Ken, love your work and your style so much. The music / sound effects, are so perfect too. So glad Steve Kirsch gave you a shoutout, otherwise I never wouldve discovered your work. Looking forward to the next installment! Much love and appreciation / Big Fan.
the Georgia guidestones were bull-dozed! look for the narrative and photo past the ads... seems dystopian... fits with your theme?
