More CNN hogwash
Thanksgiving in the U.S. two years ago was when the American media chose to unleash the Omicron variant to whip up fear. It is hardly hyperbole to say it was indeed the media that unleashed it. That does not mean media outlets have a secret lab where they create new viruses, and it doesn’t mean Omicron wasn’t real. It means the media created the fear that surrounded Omicron.
Traditions die hard. For this year’s Thanksgiving, American media have released upon viewers what appears to be a new pneumonia outbreak that has afflicted China. There have been no reported deaths from it, and it’s not a novel pathogen, but the media considers it a new plague. The narrative is the same as it was when COVID was new, despite the pneumonia outbreak having no deaths.
CNN ran a piece on it that is as laden with bullshit as you’d expect. The article says that in America, “RSV is spreading at ‘unprecedented’ levels among children.” But the piece cited is from well over a year ago. The quote about it being “unprecedented” is from last year.
CNN strongly implied that China lifting lockdowns a long time ago caused the current pneumonia outbreak. This is a propaganda ploy to encourage new lockdowns. It’s even doubtful that this outbreak is being caused by immunity debt, because that would assume lockdowns limited disease in the first place. They clearly didn’t. This series of reports has shown that COVID cases actually went up in countries around the world during lockdowns. The tougher it was, the worse it was.
Perhaps most importantly, CNN seems to be accepting the Chinese government’s information about the new outbreak, even though the regime was proven to be spreading propaganda on COVID as it conducted its lockdown experiments. It is an untrustworthy regime. Nothing it says can be believed, yet CNN just gulps down its claims.
For their part, Chinese hospitals claim to be over capacity, but if this is true, it’s the same problem that afflicted hospitals in America and elsewhere during COVID. Instead of increasing capacity, they opted to complain about how little capacity they had—which was more grist for the mill of the lockdown thought police.
Anyone who notices CNN cited a stale, year-old piece to drum up RSV fears to justify more mask mandates (which are becoming more common anyway, despite the media recently claiming it was just a conspiracy theory) should just stop reading everything else CNN says, but it’s hard to notice. Propaganda runs deep. Anyone who thinks major media outlets aren’t trying to whip up support for new lockdowns may be in for a rude awakening.
The media is loving this. News such as the pneumonia scare seems to make them relevant again, and they can’t contain their excitement. They loved the lockdowns, and they want more of them. It makes them feel important.
