IEEE 802.15.6 is an international wireless communication standard
specifically designed for Wireless Body Area Networks - ๐ช๐๐๐ก
WBAN networks support both in-body communication, and on-body a.k.a. Body Area Network (๐๐๐ก), Body Sensor Network (๐๐ฆ๐ก), and Medical Body Area Network (๐ ๐๐๐ก). eg. inbrain-neuroelectronics
In-body communication is the network communication between biological sensors that are implanted inside the human body

In our last segment, we exposed the fact that injectable self assembling brain interfaces not only exist but have been being offered commercially by inBrain Neuro Electronics and now several other companies since at least 2019 inBrain Neuro Electronics spun off as an independent company from the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology or ICN2 in 2019.
ICN, the predecessor of ICN2 was formed in 2003, looking over the material available on the ICN2 website.
It is apparent that the intent to develop graphene compounds for neural interfaces has existed for at least two decades.
But, being that the nanotech part of this equation is only the hardware. One must ask, "How does this system operate wirelessly?"
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers is responsible for writing specifications and defining standards regarding communication for the international community and have been since their founding in 1963.
The majority of standards and specifications that apply to the operation of Internet of Things Devices including the cybernetic organisms called augmented or enhanced humans can be found in I triple E 802.15 Sections 4, 5, 6 and 7 are of particular interest in relation to this subject.
IEEE 802.15 Section.6 is even named Body Area Networks or BANs.
This particular working group was formed in 2007 and the first draft of their standard for BANs was approved in 2011.
All of this is preparation was done more than a decade before this technology was widely fielded, but very few people are aware of any of it.
