Hello lovelies
Recently I did a post on social, about what the plants taught me, other than their herbal properties, and I would love to explore it in more detail with you here.
My two grandmothers taught me a lot about plants, just from their way of life. My Granny Rosemary lived in a cottage in the middle of the woods, and she had a touch of wild about her and a huge dose of eccentricity.
She made Nettle soup, gardened, and spent most of her time on the land, sleeping in it, loving it and sharing it with me. Whereas my other granny, granny Mary, lived in the city, she was an artist and musician and her garden was everything. She grew herbs and vegetables and was in love with flowers.
Their connection and love and care for the plant world all around, deeply taught me about life.
But as I grew I forgot about it all, and it was only later, when studying eco-psychotherpay, that the plants stood out to me and called me to get to know them on a greater level.
I thought I would just be reclaiming ancestral knowledge on herbal medicine along with an understand of what I could eat and how. Which I did, but the journey was far, far more than that.
I would say I came to plants, cut off and disassociated, but over time, they started to rewild me in ways I would never have imagined.
