"I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious."
Albert Einstein
Hello again lovely,
As we start this journey in 2024 I want to encourage you to be open and go into this with curiosity. In a recent video, I mentioned that the word I chose for the year is a lighthouse, and I want you to explore this concept this week. Choosing a word isn’t meant to lock you in to a particular outcome, instead I want you to approach this word with openness and curiosity to see where it will lead you this year.
Coincidentally, (or serendipitously), after talking about lighthouses I read an article by Ryder Carroll of The Bullet Journal method, where he suggests that we think of our goals as lighthouses along the way, and not simply fixed outcomes. This is what I want us to keep in mind as we spend the year together exploring our words. I’ll be mentioning the word goals frequently (although I do also mix it up by using plans, and intentions), so I suggest reading the linked article before you get too seep in the process that follows.
Before we get to the nitty-gritty of our monthly journaling, let’s start by focusing deeply on our word over the next few days. This is the start of the process of living your word meaningfully this year. Read through the prompts carefully, then get out your notebook and pen, and complete the steps. This process can be as long or short as you wish.
