Down in a little dell - TKG Take Ten
Tuesday in Canmore, Canada. Down in a little dell - off the beaten track there were ducks. And we love ducks.
And I thought to myself - oh that will be great for my Tenners. They will love to see the Canadian ducks. So I sat down and set the focus where the ducks might go and left the walking path slightly out of focus in case someone walked past. Protecting their privacy.
Then masses of people started walking past and the ducks flew off. Of course they did. Then they came back. But I was deep into trying to make friends with my mountain by drawing his portrait. I find mountains a little daunting after the prairie. So the ducks silently went to sleep just off screen. Until they flew away through the screen right at the end of the ten minutes. Of course.
Best laid plans often reveal other plans.
Do you see all those darkish patches? Those are piles of fresh deer poo.
Maybe I should come down here at dawn to see if I can capture any deer. Though if I can’t get pictures of the wild ducks I am fairly sure I won’t have any luck with deer!
Have a gorgeous evening!

I am chuckling. It is like the people have replaced the farm animals, all chattering in their own way, coming and going and just being humans. I was so waiting for you to appear, walking through with your container of bird seed, Tima running behind hogging all the food. Crows cawing in the background I think? Where are all the small wild birds...too many people for them I imagine The bench sitter over by the picnic table seems to have been in deep contemplation pondering the mountains, or scrolling a phone- although I hope it is pondering and not scrolling in that beautiful place.
