Providing Value in Your Community
“Providing value” within your community is highly contextual- it's not a one-size-fits-all scenario
The whole idea of providing value is simply offering that which your members consider worthy of their time, energy or money. And this can mean different things for different communities.
For instance, in my community, the members might find networking to be more valuable. Meanwhile, another community might be all about the content, and yet yours could prioritize events over anything else.
As you build and grow your community, it’s important that you pay attention to what is truly valuable to your members.
Sure, you might have started off with a grand content plan, but if your members are finding more value in the weekly or monthly events you're putting together, consider shifting more focus there.
How do you identify what’s valuable to your members?
Just ask!
Through regular surveys, feedback forms/channels, 1:1 discussions with top members, and regular communication with members. Your analytics is also a great place to look into.
