The Dinner party – The Artist Dinner - Fennel & Clementine.
Autumn, out of my cocoon, I’m a social butterfly.
I have been happily trapped in my new world. Eger to create. And yet not ready to launch. It’s all beginning. The frost is reminding me that autumn is nearly finished and I had best get this note sent.
It's peak autumn in Provence.
Orange is the new ratatouille. It's the predominant colour in the market, with a dash of gold that complements the browning leaves of fall. The chanterelles are particularly golden this year, and there are black highlights with the little trumpet mushrooms. The pomegranates are big and white. There are persimmons and many more scarf stalls.
A Butterfly
It's been an unusually busy social time for me. Parties and outings are usually fairly rare, particularly in the evenings. It’s the conditioning curse of chronic illness, always saying no to things because you won’t have energy the next day. Life is one permanent hangover, minus the good times. The blessing of being better is saying yes! The psychological speed hump is remembering you are not sick anymore, at least for now, and hopefully forever.
PREVENTION
My last practitioner appointment was all about prevention, cellular security, and every little thing I will have to do to feel safe. If my body feels safe, the theory is it will not go into the post-stress shutdown mode. We will be testing this theory.
NEW ME
Besides, I have been pretty excited to be the new me. The me that is finally out from under those layers of past lives. And it's been so surprisingly well received, that my tardy cells are in shock. Being totally vulnerable, putting up ideas and artwork, and having people like it is very healing and really very surprising.

Private Dinner Party
Anyway, the new me (which my daughter says is the old me) was asked out to a very private dinner party. Being well and relieved that I had made my life-changing decision, I said yes wholeheartedly.
It was a restaurant-at-home dinner party. Ari and his partner, plus a Chef and her Dalmatian put on a soiree that was the epitome of Autumn.
