Energy Bursts and Other Intuitive Hits
Where and how do YOU experience your intuition the most?
Hello Friends,
This post is more of a question to you, and a deep reflection on sensations I’ve been noticing in my body when I have made decisions, big and small.
Ever since diving deep into The Intuitive Way by
years ago (at ’s recommendation), I have begun learning how to discern between my anxiety and deep intuition. One might think this would be easier perhaps, but with Gemini rising, a Gemini sun, ♊️, and an Aquarius moon ♒️, full embodiment can be the ultimate challenge!
I am starting to discern that when I’m really exited about an idea, I get some clear “yes” feeling in my heart, like a bursting of energy. My belly starts to feel warm, and sometimes a little fluttery.
The “no” feeling can be a pit in my stomach, and is more of a sinking feeling, almost a contraction of the energy in my heart.
When I’m coaching a client and I receive a spine tingle, that always alerts me to pay attention. It doesn’t happen in every session but it’s always a relevant moment to dive deeper, and ask more questions.
Having studied the “clairs” a bit I am also starting to realize that my deep knowings don’t always seem to register clearly in the body. Claircognizance and clairaudience in particular seem to bypass bodily sensation and arrive quite swiftly, though I probably need to pause and notice even more.
Clairaudience is often song in my head that plays on repeat. Or sometimes a phrase will keep coming up in my mind, and a feeling that blinking lights are getting me to pay attention to it.
Occasionally this is old programming, an associative bit of echo that might not mean anything. But more often than not when a melody keeps repeating, I need to go look up some lyrics. What IS that song telling me?
And sometimes it will make me laugh, how a message is being pointed out that I need to be aware of. We all need more music in our lives, no?
I know I’ll need a re-listen of Loosen by Aly Halpert this week.
Loosen, loosen, baby
you don't have to carry the weight of the world in your muscles and bones
let go, let go, let go
Sometimes taking things on feels like the most natural thing in the world. Letting go is always the bigger challenge for me. This is why Aly Halpert’s lovely music is a faciliator for me.
This is relevant to the practice of intuition also. Sometimes our anxiety speaks, and we are tempted to listen, especially if we are taking brave steps in a new direction.
These are wonderful occasions to pause, get centered, and take note of the content and the quality of those thoughts. Applying some gentle inquiry while we notice can uncover voices that sound like our third grade teacher, or a parental figure. Or they can be a part of us that’s only seven years old, wanting to gain love from our caregivers by being a “good girl.”
It can be subtle. And it takes awareness, practice, and experience to discern these messages. But I find it’s well worth it to navigate times of change and uncertainty, where so many of us are now.
I’m curious to hear from readers, if you are generous enough to share.
Where do you experience your intuition the strongest?
Does your body guide you?
Do you get visions or hear messages through words? Or both? Or maybe you receive smells or tastes that lead you?
Do you notice synchronicities in what you observe?
Does your intuition feel louder or quieter than your anxiety?
Thanks in advance for sharing your observations and letting others benefit from your insights here! ❤️
It took me a while to learn the language of my intuition too.
The first time the idea of being "claircognizant" came into my awareness, I had to look up its meaning.
Once I read a description, it finally made sense.
I get a knowing. It's tricky to understand. I just KNOW.
While I used to be a little jealous of those who could see (clairvoyant)... like, it's so easy! Just let me SEE what I need to know.
The big lesson for me has been discerning whether my knowing is my intuition speaking or inner children trying to run the show.
Well, I'm eagerly awaiting responses. I'm just beginning my journey cultivating intuition and somatic awareness. What I'm learning to do most right now is just listen to the little voices, and yes, sometimes they're screaming to me before I pay attention.
