News broke earlier that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis will announce his presidential bid tomorrow evening during a Twitter Spaces discussion with Elon Musk.
Twitter has gone from government agent censoring reporting on the Democrat candidate and his philandering, crackhead son to hosting the presidential announcement of a Republican governor.
It’s a waking nightmare for the left and their press to lose control of a platform that gets more eyeballs and engagement than their legacy channels and publications. It’s a boon for free speech, a new opportunity for non-Democrats to engage with voters while circumventing a biased press. It’s a coup for Musk who now has an opportunity to reshape what we consider the “free press” to be and how news is delivered.
Instead of just aggregating and amplifying news, Twitter can now break it.
Programming note: Gov. DeSantis will join me on my radio program Thursday.
Does breaking news of DeSantis presidential bid make Twitter a publisher, removing section 230 protections? It's a conundrum, since it still provides a platform for many other publishers, while itself evolving into a publisher.
Let the games begin!!!
