FL Gov. Ron DeSantis Joins "The Dana Show" for Wide-Ranging Q&A On Abortion, Taxes, China, and Red Flag Laws, and More
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis joined “The Dana Show” this afternoon.
Key takeaways, with clips from the radio program’s simulcast:
On abortion and whether or not he sees it as a state or federal issue:
“Some things may be federal, but clearly the states have the primary role over that.”
On the IRS — if Congress defunded the IRS would he sign the bill – and what would he replace the system with, a fair or flat tax?
“The answer is yes, I think the IRS is a corrupt organization, and I think that it’s not a friend to the average citizen or taxpayer, and so we need something totally different.”
The Governor was also asked about red flag laws, the idea of “take the guns first, then due process?”
“It’s unconstitutional, and violates the second amendment. But I think even more important, it violates the 5th amendment, because they can't take anything from you without due process.”

IMHO people were too harsh in their assessment of twitter spaces and Ron choosing it to have a "Town Hall" to announce and discuss his bid for the presidency with the people live in real-time. IMHO Twitter spaces worked better than MS Teams, Zoom, jitsy, or slack would have. None of these others could hope to handle that kind of load. None of the legacy media are live in Real-time. They are either per-recorded or have a time delay in case someone says something the owners or government don't like. You try to have a Zoom meeting with 700,000 closest friends and let us know how that turns out for you.
Great Interview.
