Welcome to our March 8 edition!
Our friends at Indivisible Ventura sent us this video of Jessica Craven explaining the GOP's lie that Medicaid is not being cut because it's not written into their resolution. Really deceptive.
“CALL YOUR MEMBERS OF CONGRESS RIGHT NOW AND DEMAND A TOWN HALL. If Republicans want to vote to gut your healthcare and hand billions to Elon Musk, they should have to face their constituents and explain themselves. As for Democrats, we need them to be out there, loudly, explaining to their constituents what’s going on and how they’re going to fight back.”
Call Senate Republicans — If they’re gutting Medicaid and Social Security, they should say it to your face.
Call House Republicans — They’re looting the government for billionaires. Make them explain why.
Call Senate Democrats — They must hold the line against extreme MAGA cuts and demand real guardrails to protect against the Trump-Musk coup.
Call House Democrats — They need to hear from us. No deals. No blank checks. No business as usual.
Indivisible SF is standing up for Ukraine with a postcard-writing campaign.
A week ago “we saw a disgraceful, disrespectful and despicable display towards President Zelenskyy by Trump and Vance. …
You can show that Americans like us don’t support Trump and Vance’s bullying [by writing] a postcard to President Zelenskyy to uplift his spirit and fortify his determination in doing what is best for his people. Think of it as fan mail—an expression of personal support.”
Find your closest Ukrainian consulate here and write to them expressing your support for Ukraine!
A big thanks to Indivisible Chicago—South Side for giving our newsletter team a shout out!
IC-SS has created a Library of Motivation. Here are this week's suggestions:
Subscribe to the Digital Drumbeat (from DemCast): Over half of Americans get their news on social media. It’s our duty to make sure people within our reach online are receiving pro-democracy messaging rooted in truth. Subscribers get near-daily newsletters that deliver the highest-priority digital calls to action and tools from across the pro-democracy movement.
Use 5 Calls to reach your members of Congress and make your voice heard. They research issues, write scripts that clearly articulate a progressive position, figure out who the most influential decision-makers are, and collect phone numbers for their offices. All you have to do is call.
DemCast will host a call on Monday, March 10, at 7 p.m. ET, with Rina Welch and John Foti from Americans for Tax Fairness to discuss the spending bill currently making its way through Congress.
What is the process to get it passed?
What are they proposing to cut?
How big are these tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans?
We will get into all of this with Rina & John. Bring your questions!
Network Nova shared this clip from their of their February 28 Friday Power Lunch Podcast: The Political Pulse: A News Beat on the Edge of Chaos.

Paying for every meal in packed Canadian restaurant, U.S. couple apologizes for Trump politics | CBC News
“‘Everyone was cheering” after an American couple dining at a Windsor, Ont., restaurant on Saturday stood up, apologized for what U.S. President Donald Trump is doing, and paid for everyone's lunch, according to the co-owner of Toast, a local restaurant.”
Support these companies that support diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI):
“According to Newsweek, several large US companies are continuing their Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives despite the Trump administration’s termination of Federal DEI programs and discrediting of all others. The administration describes DEI programs as ‘public waste.’
These companies deserve our support! Patronize them! And let them know you support them for their DEI efforts through phone calls, emails, and/or letters!
Newsweek notes the following companies:
· Delta Air Lines: Delta remains dedicated to its DEI efforts. Chief External Affairs Officer Peter Carter said on an earnings call in January: "DEI is about talent, and that's been our focus." Click here for Delta corporate phone numbers.
· Costco: Continues to uphold its DEI programs. In January, the company's Board of Directors recommended against voting for a proposal from the National Center for Public Policy Research, which would have evaluated and published a report of risk associated with the company's DEI efforts, per ABC News. Call Costco at 425-313-8100 (press 0 for operator) to thank them!
· Apple: Maintaining its focus on diversity, Apple has resisted external pressures to roll back its DEI initiatives.
· e.l.f. Beauty: The cosmetic giant, sold at retail stores like Walmart and Target, touted diversity and inclusion policies last month with a marketing campaign. Click here for corporate address.
· Meijer: “Reaffirmed" its commitment to expanding Black-owned brands to meet customer interest and demonstrate its support of small businesses. 1-877-363-4537
· Procter & Gamble: The company that oversees brands like Charmin, Tide and Tampax provided a statement to The Cincinnati Enquirer that said equality and inclusion is good for business. "This cannot and will not change," CEO Jon Moeller stated.
· Sephora: Premiering its first film, “Beauty & Belonging,” at Sundance Film Festival, Sephora celebrated diversity and authenticity. Click here for corporate offices.
Kudos to these businesses, all of which deserve our support. Contact them to let them know how much you appreciate them!”
