Sonnet 252 - Do Not Forgive for Them.
You have been wronged, a lover went astray.
‘tis not your fault, yet e’er you bear that load.
Deep down inside, you can’t forget that day.
‘tis time, stand tall, and let your back unbow.
Rude things were said, with not a word of fact.
Your friends aghast, could not believe ‘twas you.
Gutted, such lies, you’ve ne’er been attacked,
Not your fault, yet so much guilt accrues.
A crushing load of guilt surrounds us all.
All have been wronged, made to feel the cause.
The truly guilty dance, without shame’s pall.
Whence you twist, guilt gives them little pause.
Give up that holy hell with grace so true.
Do not forgive for them. Forgive for you.
