Since folks in charge of our national security are reckless enough to discuss war plans in a group chat that included a reporter, I’m happy to be able to bring you more good news today. I hope it serves as a reminder that there are awesome patriots fighting back against this tyranny.
Today at 12:40pm EST, I’m doing a live interview on Substack with Congressional candidate Gay Valimont, Dem nominee for Matt Gaetz’s old district in Florida. We’ll email all subscribers a link when it starts—hope to see you there!
Our activism arm—The Watchdog Coalition—has just passed 227,000 letters sent, and tens of thousands of calls made to Congress. We’re taking on DOGE, while fighting against cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, the VA, and so much more. Plus, we just launched a campaign calling on Pete Hegseth to resign. Let’s keep up the great work!
Louis DeJoy resigned as head of the US Postal Service yesterday. Good riddance. We still have to fight Trump’s attempt to privatize the USPS, but I’m glad DeJoy’s finally gone.
Monday also brought several positive developments in the courts.
Judge James Boasberg refused to lift a ban on Trump’s use of archaic wartime powers for deportations. A federal appeals court heard arguments on the case as well, where Judge Patricia Millet called out the Trump regime, saying: “nazis got better treatment under the Alien Enemy Act than has happened here.” This is not hyperbole—the judge was stating it as a fact.
U.S. District Judge Deborah Boardman blocked DOGE from accessing private data for millions of Americans at the Treasury Dept., Dept. of Education, and the Office of Personnel Management. The judge wrote: “They trusted the federal government to safeguard their information. That public trust likely has been breached.”
Judge Boardman also made this point clear: “No matter how important or urgent the President’s DOGE agenda may be, federal agencies must execute it in accordance with the law … that likely did not happen in this case.”
The Supreme Court declined to hear an appeal from Steve Wynn, a major Trump donor, who sued The Associated Press. If successful, the lawsuit would make it easier to sue news organizations for defamation. Four votes are necessary for an appeal to be heard—Wynn’s case did not meet that threshold.
Multiple organizations, including public school districts and the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), sued the Trump Administration for their attempts to close down the Dept. of Education. AFT President Randi Weingarten said Trump’s efforts are “not only illegal, it sends a message that the president … doesn’t care about this country’s future … we’re going to a court of law to try to stop this callousness and cruelty in its tracks.”
The National Park Service can now rehire 1,000 employees who were terminated, following court rulings that found Trump’s firings to be illegal. And to support their cause, The Resistance Rangers—park staff working to save public lands—held protests at national parks all across America this weekend, with thousands joining in.
MN Gov. Tim Walz and fmr. US Rep. Beto O’Rourke are teaming up for a town hall at the Fort Bend County Fairgrounds in Rosenberg, Texas, this Thursday from 6-7:30pm. Hosted by O’Rourke’s grassroots organization, Powered by People, the invite reads: “This is your chance to ask questions, get real answers, and be part of the conversation that shapes our future.”
War plans being discussed on a text messaging chain with a reporter, is not good news. But the fact that The Atlantic journalist spoke up and exposed these incompetent members of the Trump regime, certainly is.
But corporate media’s response to the entire scandal is a great example of why it’s time for us to revolutionize the way news is reported. We don’t need two sides to this story. No more sanewashing. No repeating Trump’s lies and propaganda. We just need the truth.
The main reason I went into journalism 9 years ago was because the Press refused to do their jobs. So I stepped up and started investigating Trump from every angle: His mob connections, his entire history, links to Jeffrey Epstein, and his shady international business dealings.
I spent years helping uncover everything I could regarding Trump’s ties to Russia. No matter the constant threats, lies, or hate aimed at me, I still pressed on. And I pledge to you: I’ll be here every single day providing you with the facts—and tangible ways to fight back against this tyranny. I will never stop fighting. Never.
We will continue to be fearless in our efforts. We will never give Trump an inch. We are proudly independent journalists, who don’t depend on corporate sponsors to survive. All of our funding comes from subscriptions on Substack. It’s how we bring you the good news daily, exclusive interviews, and keep The Watchdog Coalition going strong.
So if you haven’t yet, and you’re able, please become a paid subscriber today:
No matter how you subscribe, thanks for all of your hard work. Let’s keep moving.
Onward!
Scott
