Episode 502 - Tentative Teens
Your Awesome Etiquette podcast episode for the week. Plus the Monday joke, and an Etiquette Extra on Mother's Day.
On today’s show, we take your questions on tentative teens who won’t commit to plans, using cash-app on a graduation invitation, and taking photos when dining out. For community members, your question of the week is about being called by an ex’s name at a party. Plus your etiquette salute, and a postscript on etiquette on the big screen.
Etiquette Extra - Mother's Day
We know Mother’s Day isn’t until May 12th, but we wanted to get ahead of the curve and remind you that this is a great opportunity to celebrate all the Moms in your life. There is still time to plan something special, write and decorate your own card or letter, or even get something into the mail for a Mom who is a bit farther away.
Working at a five-generation family business, Dan and Lizzie don’t have to look any further than The Gift of Good Manners and several previous editions of Etiquette to see and feel their mothers' contributions at Emily Post. And we would be remiss if we didn’t mention the option of purchasing a signed copy of Etiquette, The Centennial Edition, as a very special present for a Mom you know.
So, if there is a Mom in your life that you want to celebrate, mark your calendar for a call or visit to share your love and appreciation. It might just be the perfect thing. Give yourself a countdown if you plan on doing something special, and make any plans or reservations in the coming days. It will be here before you know it. Good luck with the preparations!
Spring keeps springing. The days are getting longer and warmer. We hope this Monday post finds you well and ready to tackle the week ahead with consideration, respect, and honesty.
This week’s etiquette challenge to the podcast audience is to host a dinner, and we invite you to join us in the challenge to stretch our social muscles by inviting someone over for a meal. Let us know how it goes and we will keep you posted as well.
Join us on Thursday for the Etiquette Throwback. Until then!
All the best,
Lizzie and Dan
