Senate shenanigans with transgender youth bill; action needed from allies
In an unusual move, a Senate committee is holding a hearing on HB 2791 the same day as the House. Duplicate testimony & emails are needed.
Yesterday’s newsletter addressed the two harmful bills, HB 2791 & HB 2792, with a hearing in a House committee that will prevent parents from getting healthcare supported by major medical associations for their children.
We’ve now learned a Senate committee is having an “informational hearing” on HB 2791 on Thursday morning. It’s a bit unusual for the Senate to hold a hearing on a House bill that hasn’t yet passed in the House. There is concern that this hearing may be more official than its purported to be, so testimony to that Senate committee is being encouraged.
The good news? You can use the same HB 2791 testimony for both the House and the Senate. You just have to use two separate methods/templates for submitting.
Below are the same links from yesterday’s newsletter for the House committee testimony and emails, and new links for the Senate committee versions. Links include talking points.
