Happy Monday War & Peaceniks. Let’s take Europe!
If you’ve ever seen my Media Universe Map, you’ll note it is very America-focused. There are many global companies and platforms included, but some significant regional media players from around the globe are not one the map, or don’t get a fair comparison, given major differences among the world’s populations, media and economies.
So, we zoomed out, then back in, to chart other regions around the world. This week, in Denmark, at the THIS Conference, I will be unveiling v1 of our European Periodic Media Table (below). It is v1, because, as you can see, it includes eight European territories so far, plus the UK. Also, media data in Europe and around the world are all over the place.
It’s not just that there is no one currency for usage sectors, most often, there are no universally useful data within the sectors of video, gaming, audio or social themselves. Every Map, every set of evolving data, is a work in progress. As is this. However, as always, our goal is to offer you a new way of looking at something new – a portal to insight. Hopefully this new Table and the analysis that follows do just that.
Comparing the top players in Gaming, Video, Audio and Social, across nine countries in Europe, gave us plenty of fine cuisine to chew on.
Here are my 9 Fine European Tips & Tidbits:
