Editor’s Letter: February 2022
Dedicated to the Divine Feminine in Us All.
As the artist and creator of an oracle deck dedicated to goddesses, it should come as no surprise that I have a soft spot for the divine feminine. It started as a childhood obsession with Greek mythology and grew into an adult appreciation for the way embracing the divine feminine energy creates balance within us all. Regardless of gender, we all posses the power to summon strength, action, and big picture vision (divine masculine) or intuition, receptivity, and nurturing (divine feminine) in any situation. However, since society at large tends to value masculine qualities, our divine feminine often gets left on the back burner.
That’s why this month’s issue is dedicated to the energy of Venus, the Roman goddess of beauty, love, sex, luxury, abundance, and a whole list of other things she’s rarely given enough credit for. We’re taking the essence of this ultimate femme fatale and infusing her vibe into each of our offerings. Most of the articles won’t even mention Venus herself, but we hope that they help you tap into your own inner love & beauty goddess along the way.
There are numerous psychological benefits to what Venus has to offer as well. Cultivating daily routines around beauty can provide a form of mindfulness to your life which has been shown to reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety. Likewise, establishing a healthy relationship with your sexuality helps to release chemicals in the brain’s pleasure-reward center which can lead to increased immunity, improved sleep, and reduced anxiety. Then, of course, there’s the pièce de résistance of Venus’s powers: Love. I don’t think I need a link to any study to convince you of the profound mental benefits having love in your life can provide.
So rather than dedicating your February to Hallmark cards and boxed candies (though please, go ahead and indulge in those as well), why not stop in here Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays for your own Venus infusion?
xoxo,
