The Washington Post needs a history lesson from Professor Richardson. The paper is featuring Trump press person Kellyanne Conway, the woman who invented “alternative facts,” in a Virtual Program event on April 24. This is the women who lied, misinformed, and lied some more when she worked for the previous president. The WaPo is normalizing and legitimizing her abhorrent behavior while she was representing American policy and programs to America and the world.

The Washington Post led the way to uncover the crimes and immorality of the Nixon administration, and yet apparently believes Conway is worth our attention now. She frequently attacked the WaPo and other respectable news media, so the paper appears to be endorsing someone who forcefully denigrated a free and fair press.

I’m beyond disgusted with what appears to be this shameless pandering to Trump world (or the WaPo shareholders). I encourage subscribers to tell the WaPo what you think of this! Email the Opinions editor at David.Shipley@washpost.com. Send your LTE to letters@washpost.com.

Future historians will write of the cowardice of Republican office holders who seemingly have two great fears: 1) that 45 will turn on them and threaten their families, and 2) that they will be primaried by a candidate endorsed by 45 and lose their seat. It matches the spinelessness of those German citizens who walked past their Jewish friends being arrested, knowing that they would disappear forever.

Just as Sununu chooses to go all in for 45, we must go all in to help elect Democrats up and down the ballot.

The Republican Party cannot lay claim to being the Moral Majority. They instead prove themselves time and again to be morally bankrupt and sellouts willing to do anything to seek and obtain power at any cost.

They are cowards, moral and constitutional cowards and political opportunists. Never forget who these people are. Never let them forget that we know they have poor character and no integrity.

President Biden should present Cheney and Kinzinger with the Medal of Honor. Or, better yet, create a new honor for those non-military citizens who have served the Constitution with distinction.

We live in truly frightening times.

It sounds to me like Chris Sununu is trying to throw his hat into the ring as a VP pick. While not referring to the same thing Ross Perot meant when he used this term, does anyone else hear that giant sucking sound…?

My relatives in New Hampshire are ashamed of their governor. As I am. And his father before him. Neither of them would be tolerated here in Massachusetts. Not just for their politics: his father is a diehard Yankees fan.

A sad and sobering observation. It's as though these warnings are falling on deaf ears among too many of our fellow Americans. Democracy is truly at risk, and yet the vast majority of the electorate seems to be sleepwalking as we slide into fascism.

Thank you, as always, for speaking out about the very real dangers we face as a nation. Lincoln's words are a warning. If only we will heed them.

Thank you, for another insightful article. Please keep at it. Every little bit of historical perspective, good reporting and sober analysis helps!

Sununu joins the ever-growing, grotesque line of cowards. Maybe he will visit Trump in prison and kiss the ring. In the meantime, I hope democracy-loving New Hampshire resident shun him with disgust.

By the way, Trump has never had 51% support, which Sununu knows. Also, credit to Stephanopoulos for tough questioning.

Instead of selling out, Sununu should switch his Party affiliation to Democrat or Independent and ask other Republicans to join him.

How hard is it to stand up and say I am an American, first and foremost, and list the reasons why he can’t support Trump.

It is time to lead, not sell out.

Chris Sununu is no more an American than his father was. Both men are the kind of spineless lackeys who would ride shotgun in the devil's pickup truck and run into the 7-Eleven to buy the devil's cigarettes for him.

How does he **know** that 51% of America supports Trump? the true figure is much less than that! They are making such statements, even though they know it is not true, in order to convince people to go along with this mythical majority and vote for someone who may lose.

“‘Just to sum up,’ Stephanopoulos said, “You support [Trump] for president even if he's convicted in [the] classified documents [case]. You support him for president even though you believe he contributed to an insurrection. You support him for president even though you believe he's lying about the last election. You support him for president even if he's convicted in the Manhattan case. I just want to say, the answer to that is yes, correct?”

Sununu answered: “Yeah. Me and 51% of America.”

Has 51% of America totally lost its mind and moral compass? How fearful should we allow ourselves to become over the future of this country?

".......and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.” If by some horrible mischance the trumpster and his merry band of thugs are elected in November; that is exactly what will happen - the government of the people, by the people, for the people WILL perish from the earth.

Thank you for shining a light on the cynical nature of so many Republican politicians like the hypocritical Sununu who need to grow a backbone. There comes a time to stand up for your ideals, and so many in public office fail to do so. The only way to break this vicious cycle is to vote Democratic!
