Mu worked two cases in two weeks involving a peculiar behavior of coyotes. We have seen this behavior dozens of times in the past, or at least seen evidence of the behavior. Coyotes will take their prey and then go away and eat it and then come back and defecate close to where their prey was taken, and the feces contains the fur of the prey that they took. It appears to be an instinctive behavior that helps them keep track of things. Coyotes use feces as markers for trails, and apparently to mark where they caught desirable prey.
