I Would Love You To Invite Your Friends To Read the Writing Life With Jason Liegois
A humble plea. 🙂
I decided to try and personalize this a bit rather than just use the canned announcement Substack suggested1.
First, thank you for reading The Writing Life With Jason Liegois. Just by clicking on the link and seeing what I have to talk about regarding the world of writing, you are supporting what I’m doing. If you’ve surrendered your email addresses to me and signed up for a subscription, even if it’s a free subscription, you’re doing a lot to support me. I know at least you want to be a part of what I’m doing, this little writing community I’m building on Substack.
Now, it would be fantastic if you were able to sign up and be a paid subscriber to The Writing Life. (It turns out I have a pretty good discount for those wanting to go with the yearly payment)2. However, I know it’s a big committment. Trust me, I’m feeling the cash crunch just like many of you at the moment.
However, there’s a lot of ways you can support me and this page. And, a good number of those ways are free. I wanted to share one of them with you today.
If you enjoy The Writing Life With Jason Liegois, you can actually refer your friends to read and subscribe to this page. Not only is this no cost to you, if you do refer friends, you gets some extra benefits from me, which include special access to The Writing Life.
Here’s How it Works!
1. Share The Writing Life With Jason Liegois. When you use the referral link below, or the “Share” button on any post, you'll get credit for any new subscribers. Simply send the link in a text, email, or share it on social media with friends.
2. Earn benefits. When more friends use your referral link to subscribe (free or paid), you’ll get those benefits I mentioned above. What are they?
If you make three (3) referrals, you get a one month complimentary paid (a comp subscription, in short) subscription. Again, those three referrals can be for either free or paid subscriptions. It doesn’t matter.
If you make five (5) referrals, that comp subscription will stretch to three months.
And if you make twenty-five (25) referrals? That’ll be worth a six-month comp subscription to you.
If you need more explanation about this whole buisness, check out Substack’s FAQ. It’s actually been pretty helpful to me in my first year of being on this site.
I appreciate everything you can do in advance. Every little bit helps to get the word out.
It was still very nice of the Substack algorithm to suggest I might want to do this, so there’s that. And I did use some of their suggestions.
Feel free to check it out. It’s just $40 for the entire year, which is a bargain from the $5 per month rate.
