What Traditional Media are talking about
Mostly Colorado
Yes, they looked good against TCU, but let's not break out the Kordell Stewart jerseys quite yet. TCU had a magical season last year, but no one except those with Horned Frogs flags in their yard are ready to put them in the eliete category quite yet.
A win on the road after all the hype and roster turnover is very encouraging, however, and advising caution is as much of a #HaterTaek as I can muster. I hopped on the Deion bandwagon at Jackson State, rode it to Colorado, and see no reason to jump off. His kid looked good, real good. Travis Hunter is special. This team is interesting. The media will do what they can to make you hate Deion and Colorado, but don't let them. You CAN hate them. Hating in sports is allowed and it doesn't even have to be rational. Just don't let the overexposure jade you. They're interesting and Deion's involvement makes college football interesting.
To a much lesser extent(for some reason), DJ Ukelele having a good game for Oregon State
There is only one QB in college football and that's Caleb Williams. I don't know why anyone would care about a guy who couldn't cut it at Clemson having a decent game against a Mountain West team. DJ Ukelele will have a decent year, but he is who he was at Clemson.
Heisman Race
1. Caleb Williams
2. Travis Hunter
For now, that's the race. It's only those two and we can be fine with that because they both have the "It" factor to carry the interest all season. There will be others on other lists, but these are the guys. Enjoy them because they both seem to know what it will take and they both seem determined to put on a show. We're lucky. Act like it.
