The Corrupt Supreme Court is repealing the 20th century and damaging 21st century America in the process
With six far right ideologue members, the Roberts Court is systematically stripping away the rights of everyone but billionaires and the Christian right
The last couple of weeks have been rough for a lot of Americans. Expand it to a year, and we’ve seen the largest retrogression in civil rights in any of our lifetimes. A generation ago, the court led by Earl Warren revolutionized civil rights and sent this country on a long march toward greater equality. From Brown v. Board to the legalization of abortion and contraception, Black Americans and women finally stepped onto the field of full citizenship. The road would remain rocky, particularly for Black Americans (racism remains a strong and indefatigable force in this country), but at least there was a road.
Under the Roberts court, quite the opposite is true. The six conservative appointees, placed on the court by three Republican presidents (two Bushes and Donald Trump), have set the course on a breakneck race to repeal the 20th century, whose advances for women and people of color clearly offend them. Along with Black and Latino Americans and liberated women, these retrograde members seem particularly offended by the presence and openness of LGBTQ people. And they have the power, and the lifetime appointments, with which to punish them for stepping out of their place. Under the whip of Roberts, Alito, Thomas, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh and Coney Barrett — two of them credibly accused sex pests — far right wing billionaires and conservative Christians stand ascendant in the U.S. legal order, and women, gays, Blacks, Latinos, Indigenous people, the falsely incarcerated, workers and debtors have officially been told to go to hell.
The corruption is the point.

And then the hits kept coming…
Elie Mystal writes in The Nation: The Supreme Court Just Told Student Debtors to Go to Hell
And they did it with entirely fake plaintiffs… since no real ones wanted to be involved.
And speaking of fake plaintiffs, meet Edward Blum, whose “membership organization” Students for Fair Admissions, was the plaintiff in the affirmative action case. He’s no one man band: he’s a black hole for far right wing megadonors, including the Scaife Foundation and the Koch network. Lots of journalists uncovered that in 2022…
From Slate back then:
Last week, Blum was given space in the The New York Times to describe his operation as “low-cost…no bricks, no mortar, no employees.” This week’s aforementioned piece in the Post followed suit, describing Blum as having “an extraordinary track record for… a stockbroker turned conservative activist and policy wonk, who is neither a lawyer nor the head of a large organization.”
Such descriptions obfuscate the big money backing his work and the regressive, anti-democratic goals of those backers and his lawsuits. The Democratic Policy and Communications Committee has bluntly called Blum’s organizations “fronts for corporate mega-donors seeking to change the law through the courts.” Following the money, as education analyst James S. Murphy does, reveals that from 2015-2020, Blum’s two main non-profits, Project on Fair Representation and Students for Fair Admissions, received $11.2 million in contributions, with Blum receiving more than $900,000 in pay. Significant donations have come from prominent conservative funders Searle Freedom Trust, the Scaife Foundation and Bradley Foundation, alongside at least $3 million from Donors Trust, which has been called the “dark money ATM of the right,” with the Koch and DeVos families among its major contributors. On top of this are the hundreds of millions of dollars flooding the judicial nominations process and shaping a radically conservative Supreme Court favorable to causes like Blum’s.
And let’s not leave off the fake plaintiffs in the “eff the gays” case out of Colorado. There was no plaintiff there, either…

Welcome to the brave new world of fake right wing plaintiffs, backed by billionaires, who let the Leonard Leo-crafted Supreme Court majority fashion the U.S. into a Christian nationalist state. You’re welcome.

Damn I miss a couple of days and look who shows up - Happy to see YOU - Very Unhappy with those Men in BLACK robes - Beer Boy Lied, as did several of the others - They want us to go back to the 50s & 60s - 🤦♀️ they gots to pay off their sugar daddies….
The supreme court overturned racist admissions practices, and stood up against compelled speech. So naturally the idiot Marxists are furious.
