The Spartan Sprint is Fucking Wholesome
Let us bid adieu to Dry January with a sober story about a family doing an obstacle course.
This is what I did over the weekend. I thought about writing about all the benefits of staying sober past January if you’re one of THOSE-the ones who can’t wait to get hammered in February. Then I thought, ‘Eh. They’ll figure it out.’
The day before the Spartan Sprint I get a text from Carrie with a list of everything my cousin Ray and I need to bring on race day.
Even though it’s not cold weather I still recommend long exercise pants. Tank top or whatever is comfortable for the weather. Long Socks. Grippy gloves. Clean comfy clothes for after race. Full size dry clean towel. Hand towel damp in ziplock. Face washcloth with soap for face and more in ziplock. Hat for messy hair after race.
I’ve never been so towel-heavy on race day. I’ve done trail runs, half-marathons, 10ks and 5ks, but never anything that requires three towels and soap at the end.
