My guests arrived in Kisii at 5:30 in the evening from Maasai Mara. We took a cab from Kisii town to the Airbnb about 4 kilometers away.
We stayed in the B&B for some time, catching up, before heading about 8 km away for supper using motorcycles, the primary mode of transportation around town. We had our meal, consisting of cow hooves mixed with some indigenous vegetables and ugali (cooked pounded corn flour, our staple food). My guests returned to their place, and I went back home.
The following morning, I picked them up from their Airbnb with a friend’s car and their driver. On our way home, we enjoyed boiled groundnuts, sweet bananas, and passion fruits, all purchased by the roadside at a market called Keumbu. We passed by our local factory, the Kiamokama Tea Factory, which is about 6 km away from home. It was interesting because we learned about tea processing before understanding its origins. I had planned for that to happen later during the day, but the factory supervisor was available then. I'll soon upload the video of the tea processing and who knows, I might become your tea supplier soon! 😉
Upon reaching home, we had sweet potatoes from my recent trip to Kisumu (around Lake Victoria), boiled eggs fresh from our indigenous chickens, and white tea (milk from our neighbor’s cattle and tea from our farms processed in Kiamokama Tea Factory). Afterward, we started our day.
There were some things I couldn't include, but my interns thoroughly enjoyed everything. Some experiences amused them, while others struck them as unique, yet collectively, we all agreed on the need to #JustStopToil. I would have enjoyed taking them to more places as planned, but my interns had a flight to catch.
The interns were happy to hear what some of village people had to say about me and my community projects. Of course, good things!

And here was I thinking that Mr Muscles got his muscles just through toiling, not working out!
I bet those two Townies wouldn't want to farm like that for a living! People would get tired of the drudgery pretty quick.
