Sketch Party
The next Sketch Party is on Tuesday, April 18 at 11 AM EST 🎉 (it is usually on Wednesdays at 11AM, so I appreciate your flexibility this month!) It’s completely free and is a way for us artists to hang out and sketch together. It’s very low key so I hope to see you there :)

I’ve been hired for a book! Now what?
I’m so grateful and excited to be illustrating my first two picture books! One is a rhyming fairytale and the other features talking golf clubs. I can’t believe I get to illustrate both these books, and now it’s time to put together everything I’ve learned.
After deciding I would accept both projects, I asked myself, “Now what?” Books take multiple months, so what can I do to set myself up for success?
I was especially asking myself this question, because I’m working with two authors who are self publishing. So I’ve suddenly found myself in charge of all decisions for both the book and contract negotiations. I’m really happy to be on these self published projects since they’re teaching me how much goes into a picture book.
