So I’m still working out how much to share about what I’m personally working on that’s not affiliated with the city so please bear with me as I figure it out. If there’s a particular topic/area you’d like me to consider, feel free to share.

February 27 is caucus night!
Never participated in a caucus in MN? Participate every year? Somewhere in-between? You should attend your precinct caucus on February 27!
What is a precinct caucus?
In Minnesota, the major parties gather on caucus night and participants are grouped according to precinct to:
Elect delegates to attend Senate District Conventions and, if applicable, elect delegates to attend County Conventions where candidate endorsements will take place
Introduce resolutions to be considered for the party platform
Discuss issues and participate in party organizing.
Go here to read the Secretary of State’s description of Precinct Caucuses
Why should you participate?
Aside from getting to know your neighbors. Caucusing is a great way to introduce issues that you care about to be considered for the party platform. Should you decide to become a delegate and attend your Senate District convention, you will have the opportunity to connect with candidates and share with them what’s important to you as well as helping to decide who the endorsed candidates will be.
Where can I find resolutions?
Funny you should ask! One of the hats I wear is as a board member for Indivisible West Metro (formerly Plymouth Area Indivisible) and as an offshoot of that position, I’m part of the Indivisible Legislative Action Coalition and I have put together a website which contains, among other things, resolutions! The site will continue to be updated as resolutions are received. There are also links to find your precinct, districts, and district party leader (for caucus location information). Check it out!
