Ukraine Will Not Win This War
The sooner the collective West acknowledges this unpopular truth, the quicker this catastrophic and dangerous war will be brought to a close.
Roughly eleven months into the military conflagration between Ukraine and Russia, the prospects of a Ukrainian victory over Russian forces are slim to none. The armed forces of Ukraine, contrary to favorable portrayals in the Western media, are on the pathway to total collapse. Rather than acknowledge these uncomfortable truths and pursue a negotiated peace, Western leaders and statesmen have instead chosen to prolong the war by sending endless amounts of weaponry and aid to the government of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The cataclysmic systemic failures of the Ukrainian military have been compounded by its massive losses. The catastrophic losses sustained by Ukraine are incredibly vast in number and horrifying in scale, prompting many individuals holding key positions inside Western governments to keep quiet about the real numbers. Thus far into the conflict, it is estimated by many verifiable sources that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have suffered an astonishing number of over 122,000 soldiers killed in action. Added to that, an estimated 35,000 have been declared missing in action or presumed dead.
Immense and formidable propaganda campaigns have been waged by both sides, but it is Ukraine that is far more pervasive and influential in its attempts to subvert the reality of what has been occurring on the battlefield in the past eleven months. Over the past weekend, Ukraine’s Defense Ministry dishonestly claimed that Russia has lost over 122,000 troops, estimating the number would rise to about 140,000 dead in about a month. Truthfully, these numbers are far off. In reality, Russia has lost 16,000-25,000 soldiers killed in action, according to various estimates.
In the words of retired Army Colonel Douglas Macgregor: “We have been exaggerating Russian losses, exaggerating Russian problems, and minimizing and obviating Ukrainian problems and losses.” No surprise, then, when a significant number of the population believes Ukraine is winning.
Despite these horrific losses for Ukraine’s military, Western nations are still promoting the absurd myth that “Ukraine is winning” and continually reject any idea or plea to instigate potential peace talks between the warring nations. Whether or not Western leaders truly believe Ukraine is winning is a question of its own, but these obfuscations cannot hold out much longer. To put it bluntly, Ukraine is not winning and will not win this war.
Escalating the War
On Wednesday, President Joe Biden announced that his administration will send 31 M1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine, while Germany confirmed on the same day that it will send 14 German-made Leopard 2s into the conflict, underscoring major escalations of Western military support for Ukraine. Olaf Scholz, the German Chancellor, after previously stating a desire to avoid a potential clash between NATO and Russia and after much hesitancy in sending tanks to Ukraine, capitulated in sending tanks after much pressure from the Biden administration to do so.
America’s and NATO’s indefatigable efforts in supplying Ukraine with ammunition and advanced weaponry have thus far proven ineffective decisively, if not completely irrelevant, to the outcome of the war. Sending tanks into Ukraine is no different; it will not dramatically change the theater of war, nor will it be sufficient enough to stave off the incoming Russian offensives.
This is where conflicting narratives regarding the war in Ukraine collide with one another; we are led to believe that Ukraine is winning handily, but we must continue granting innumerable and endless weapons packages and aid to help them. On the other hand, we are led to believe that Russia is losing badly, but at the same time, we must also believe that they are bound to take over the whole continent of Europe if Ukraine is defeated. Something is off…
“We are fighting a war against Russia”
Germany’s Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, on Tuesday, after much infighting within the German government as to whether Germany should send their tanks, pleaded with others to “do more for Ukraine,” and afterward declared the quiet part out loud regarding the Western role in the ongoing war: “We are fighting a war against Russia and not against each other.” This is yet another glaring example of the West’s true goal in Ukraine: using Ukraine as a proxy to weaken Russia and remove Putin from power.
The remarks made by the German Foreign Minister underscore the bona fide aim in Ukraine for NATO and the U.S.: using Ukrainians as proxies and fighting down to the last Ukrainian in the hopes of inflicting irreparable harm on Russia and ultimately removing Russian President Vladimir Putin from power.
Baerbock is by no means the first Western official to have uttered the truth. U.S. President Joe Biden, Senator Lindsey Graham, and Secretary of Defense Llyod Austin, among many others, have all stated the goals are regime change in Moscow and “weakening” Russia.
Ukrainian officials are not oblivious to this goal. “We are carrying out NATO’s mission,” Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov stated in a TV interview. “They aren’t shedding their blood. We’re shedding ours. That’s why they’re required to supply us with weapons.”
It’s difficult to imagine a more accurate and candid description of Ukraine’s role in the war, as sick and disturbed as it is. Utilized as Washington’s proxy, Ukraine is fighting Russia on behalf of the collective West, namely the United States, to ultimately undermine and impair the Russian state and to force Putin out of power. So far, over 122,000 Ukrainian troops have been decimated and killed for this goal, all while the West continues to maintain the flow of endless weapons into the conflict while discouraging any form of peace negotiations that could alleviate the suffering of Ukrainians.
Washington is, in effect, needlessly prolonging the suffering of Ukraine as well as escalating the conflict by sending advanced weapon systems and vehicles, inflaming tensions with Moscow. America, for the moment, is fully committed to Ukraine’s defense, no matter what. If escalations in aid continue, it is feared by many that Washington will grant Ukraine tactical nuclear weapons. Cooler heads must prevail and prevent that from happening. By continuing to escalate the conflagration, America is inching closer to a hot war with Moscow that could be deadly for all of us.
During a panel discussion at the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting this year, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called for more military support for Ukraine and took Orwell’s phrase from 1984, “War is peace,” literally in a wild statement, saying, “Weapons are the way to peace.” This is the twisted external mindset of the West, even though deep down internally, many individuals within these governments know the truth regarding Ukraine’s dire situation.
Ukraine will not win this war. Concurrently, the West is averse to admitting this bitter truth, most likely in fear that many will call for peace or a negotiated ceasefire to alleviate the suffering of those involved in the war. Peace, though, is not in the mindset of NATO and the Biden administration. Unfortunately, many in the West are in for the long haul in Ukraine, stopping at nothing in their goal to weaken Russia. Ukrainians will suffer a devastating price.
As I understand it, Russia has been trying to make a deal with Afghanistan for some weaponry the United States left behind. Billions of dollars worth of our weaponry!! Wether any of this comes about is anyone’s guess. Wouldn’t that be ironic?! This has all become just a sad, sad situation for everyone around. Everyone needs to take a step back and use alittle common sense, or this isn’t going to end well for ANYONE!
This will end in another expensive and bloody disaster just like our last 3 undeclared wars. I suspect this is all part of the plan.
