The Self-confidence Assumption
Everyone has had vivid dreams. The kind of dreams that feel like a free virtual reality (VR) experience, without having to put on a headset. You lie comfortably in bed, and your mind can take you to exotic lands, and meet magical characters. If you're lucky, you might even have some superpowers. Some friends can breathe underwater, some can fly, and others can go invisible or walk through walls.
The reason we say "lucky" is because these dreams feel like they're randomly generated. Although the events of your day can shape the narrative of your dreams, generally speaking, we can only wait for dreams to come to us. But in some cases, some people can control their dreams. Imagine if we could control our dreams, we could rehearse events in our lives, come up with new ideas, and live a happier life.
On Reddit, there's a subreddit called r/LucidDreaming, where people generally like lucid dreams of flying. Imagine flying in the endless sky, with joy and excitement filling your body. You fly over cities, oceans, and islands, chasing the wind and clouds. Who wouldn't want to fly like that?
