Polar Bear Cub of the Arctic
Freshly emerged from its den and enjoying that first intoxicating smell of the great outdoors
National Geographic photographer Berty Gregory shares his quest to find and film polar bears in the arctic. And I took a little of that wonderful cinematography to share with you in today’s hed gif. More from “The Big Freeze” can be watched below.
Only 30 years old as of this writing, British photographer Berty Gregory is a 10-year veteran of professional wildlife filmmaking. You can say he started on his passion young. When he was honored with the Television Craft Award for his contributions to “Seven Worlds One Planet” at BAFTA in 2020, he became the youngest cinematographer to achieve that award. You can enjoy his work on National Geographic and on BBC, where he’s worked on David Atenboro productions. His work on National Geographic’s “The Big Freeze” earned him two Webby Awards. His series “Epic Adventures with Bertie Gregory” is available for streaming on Disney+.
