Pumpkin Carving, Baby Leopard Style
Nashville Zoo residents getting in on some seasonal activities
Your header gif is from the Nashville Zoo. Cubs Basko, Bahn and Bao had a great time carving their own pumpkins last year. I’m not sure how much “carving” was actually accomplished, but in any event pumpkins make fun play toys.
The zoo is an active participant in breeding programs for clouded leopards, enabling 43 cubs births since 2009. In the wild, clouded leopards are classified as a vulnerable species, with fewer than 10,000 mature animals remaining, and no single population containing more than 1,000 members.
