And just like that, it is November!
We are still holding our hats as we watch US election results come in. How’s your heart been amid it all? Mine has been all over the place, and I have a hunch I am not alone in that.
I have officially landed in Membertou, Nova Scotia for a large part of the winter to be close to my sister + bro-in-law. I am grateful to be moving into this season with them nearby.
TL;DR, here is a sneak peek into this newsletter - I am sharing:
🤔 One question I am pondering: What can I learn from grief?
😴 One fun work thing: Let’s Rest! Join me tomorrow for a Rest Workshop!
😍 One source of inspiration: The Romantic Agenda. Get yourself a copy.
🤔 One question I am currently pondering:
What can I learn from grief? Over the last month, I have been learning a lot about my own grief: what role it plays, how it expresses itself, the value in sharing it, and not keeping it stuffed down for, oh you know, 7+ years… lol.😬As many know, I have spent a large part of my life working in the crisis intervention field. To help me in integrating the experiences from that time, I recently wrote about all that I am learning from grief. You can read more about that in my most recent post: Good Grief.
😴 One fun work thing:
Let’s Rest! Tomorrow, Sunday, Cyndi and I are hosting an End-of-Year Rest Workshop. Our rest work is bringing me back to my roots having studied Recreation Management + Community Development, where I learned the intricate link between rest, play, and change work. When rest and recreation are the central priority we are able to better connect and imagine the world we want to create together.
Our End-of-Year Rest Workshop is designed for change-makers who are interested in exploring rest as the key component for the change they seek. If you want to join but can’t afford it, email me. We got you covered.
😍 One source of inspiration:
Claire Kann is the friend who has helped me take the leap into becoming an entrepreneur. Claire is rigorously guided by the truth of what is. She has a knack for bringing out the best in others. And she is a brilliant conjuror of words having now authored four books. FOUR BOOKS! Which you will likely find in your local bookstore.
I finally got my hand on her most recent release, The Romantic Agenda. Y’all, it’s so good. I read it so quickly. It is about an asexual character, Joy, who is exploring the complexities of love, and I personally have fallen for Joy. She is spirited, romantic, and resolutely true to herself. Also, spoiler alert, my name has been used for one of the side characters and the character has my anxiety, and my freckles. I recommend grabbing yourself a copy or sending it to someone as a Holiday gift!
👋That’s all folks!
Sending you all hibernation vibes as we move into cooler weather. May your winter bring a soft landing place for the things most tender in your heart. May it bring you rest that sparks your imagination. And may it surround you with all the community support. Until next time.✌️
I love the blog title “good grief” and your image, Megan! Great entry.
