The Wheel in the Sky Keeps on Churnin'
It may well be the GOP's ineffectiveness in the mid-terms had more to do with structural issues than messaging or candidate quality.
Much to my own dismay I must report that, like Punxsutawney Phil, last week Optimistic Michael came out, saw his shadow, and went back into his den to hibernate for a bit.
I am thinking of writing another book. I think I will title it "The End of Everything".
A large majority of us told the GOP that running a national campaign effort based on the idea that “the other guys suck, vote for us because we are not them” was a mistake, but they did it anyway. Even if the other guys suck, when they are promising free stuff to their voters and telling them someone else is going to pay for it, those voters may be suckers, but they are suckers who simply are not going to care.
But the loss might have already been baked in the cake. The more I look at the data from the recent elections, after so much possibility the loss by the GOP appears to me to be structural - and you can't overcome structural deficits by slick TV ads or even "good" candidates because the odds are already stacked against them.
It’s not a lie that demographics are destiny.
And when those demographics point toward a generation of unpersuadable people, it gets even worse.
It is a human trait to believe that just because things are a certain way today, they will always be that way, so why would we expect a generation of people who have been coddled at every turn, told that no matter how low performing they are that they are excellent and special, and participation trophies are the norm, and parents have shielded them from every bad thing in the world, would not expect that world is the real world. All these things create is a stratum of society that produces nothing but self-importance.
The stories coming out of Musk’s cleanup of Twitter seem to support that this company hired legions of highly paid people who did nothing and produced nothing but disdain of others who didn’t toe the leftist line. Musk, to his credit, is tossing these people out on their asses and these self-important folks are finding that self-importance doesn’t count for much in productive society.
The Democrats are the beneficiaries of a cultural shift built upon a postmodern fantasy that money doesn't matter because it can be created out of thin air. Government spending doesn’t create inflation (Milton Friedman isn’t running things anymore), taxing the rich and businesses into oblivion is desirable and certain corporations are fine if they act as enforcement arms of the government to do the things the Constitution prohibits to the government.
It is a culture based on subjective truth (which means no truth at all) where every principle, premise and position have an expiration date.
In true Marxist form, the history that is allowed to exist is rewritten to fit the current narrative and everything else is just erased.
The long march through the institutions imagined by Antonio Gramsci and Rudi Dutschke has been quite successful.
I was optimistic the GOP would put up a battle and stop our fatal trajectory, but it certainly appears this election was lost decades ago to a collection of the oddest of all allies, the radical feminists, the libertines, the hard left and the anarchists, each having contradictory goals but with one common outcome - complete destruction. These groups have so limited the knowledge of a couple of generations, they have created a zombie army of young adults whose beliefs are so divorced from reality, they are little more than fantasy.
I think the fall of people like Elizabeth Holmes of Theranos and Sam Bankman-Fried of the crypto- exchange FTX are perfect analogs to a current ethos of basing theology and ideology on nothing but fantasy, deception and thin air.
Anything based in nothing is nothing. It may take a while for people to figure it out, but a con is a con, a shill is a shill, and a mark is a mark.
I’m sad to think that our culture has changed in such a way that it cannot be reversed without everything grinding to a halt and the survivors building it back. I'm almost ready to say it is better to accelerate into the dive and get it over with so we can get started.
There will be pockets of liberty scattered around America, but the insane coastal states and the major urban areas are done - and as that is where the huge numbers of votes are, America as a nation is done. It will only live as an idea until this postmodern collectivist state collapses under its own weight, as they always do.
Have you ever heard the term “churning”?
If you haven’t, churning is the term for the illegal and unethical practice by a broker of excessively trading assets in a client's account in order to generate commissions.
Back in 1978, Journey released a song titled “Wheel in the Sky”, a line of which stated, “The wheel in the sky keeps on turnin’”. The 2022 version would be “The wheel in the sky keeps on churnin”.
Our society has become a massive churn with statolatrists (people who literally worship the state), twisting Americans in knots just to earn commissions - which in this case are grifts, graft, elected offices, laundered money, prime positions in the bureaucracy and elite status withing the kakistocracy.
Our culture has changed in such a way that I'm not sure it can be changed without everything grinding to a halt and the survivors building it back. I'm almost ready to say it is better to accelerate into the dive and get it over with so we can get started.

Buckle up.
I find myself numb after the 2022 "election". It doesn't matter whether there was massive fraud or if the results simply indicate that the have-nots now dominate our society and they set the rules for those who are still producing and paying taxes. There will be no future fair elections and it probably doesn't matter since the Brandon administration is speeding us along the road to war.
It is no longer possible to think of the USA as the world's policeman (or even a force for good). We are now engaged in the war between the Golden Billion and the BRICS.
Interestingly, an American 3-star general is now in command of a group coordinating the war against Russia and a new group nicknamed Davos in the Desert is discussing the world situation and no one from the Brandon Administration has been invited. Jamie Dimon is there and so is Jarred Kushner. So is the CEO of Blackrock.
The tectonic plates of world politics have shifted and America will soon go the way of Atlantis.
“The end is near...”. You realize you contribute to this scenario by assuming the fix is in, that people can’t be swayed, that the factions moving the political levers on the left (and the right?) are forever locked in their desire to destroy The Real America. You might want to consider that your new champion (and only savior?), Trump, really is the problem, that his complete lack of authenticity is what is driving the 20 odd percent of independents away from anything resembling a Republican Party. You blithely toss aside the idea that his supported candidates are not the issue. But they are. And Trump’s insistence on making his failure to get re-elected on pervasive fraud turns all those who are truly struggling with their vote an easy mark for the other side (free lunches aside). Trump is not the current solution. Ridding politics of his toxic narcissism would go a long way of getting people more involved in what will work for this country. His demise will hasten the journey to a more enlightened electorate, in my humble opinion.
