Welcome back from a three-ish week break from writing on substack. First, I was on two weeks vacation, as previously outlined. Then, I returned home and my boyfriend promptly proposed!
to me!
on the beach!
at sunset!
It was lovely and perfect.
My ring is an antique ruby dated from the 1920s, set in gold with four pearls. Serious love for this gem from Miriam’s Jewelry.
Promise Near the End of June
Mon beau soleil, you sunrise with me in the place where I grew up. The same place where we meet in February, under cold rain shower, to embrace at the beach. The same place where you hold me many times in fairer weather, sunrise or sunset. This distance we glide along. I will never tire of tracing paths, parting, meeting, following you move. As I will never tire of calling you, angel, you calling, love.
Speak our language to me, as we blend our worlds.Â
Speak our language to me - strong, deep, soft, and sweet -
Keep your hand near me -
Strength, stand tall by me -Â
As we build our life -Â
And keep our language promise -Â
From your lips to heaven -
Can I be your husband, yes -
Can I be your wife?Â
P.S.
Naturally, I have been well-occupied these last weeks. Photos from travels abroad and new writing will go out shortly - I just had to get this life-changing news out of the way first. I thought it would be nice to keep y’all in the loop about what’s going on. Please stick around for what’s to come, and if you feel so called, invite a friend to the party in this online space!
sincerely,
