So this weekend, the dam at Orsk collapsed. It’s a major disaster. The kind that we all would have our major media on if it was anywhere but Russia. The scenes are familiar to any disaster worker who has ever worked in a significant flood.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations, which thinks a federalized fire department and rescue service is folded into one, has a few issues. Some may be related to the mobilization of emergency services personnel.
For some, it’s simply the fact that wars cost a lot of money. So here is the series of complaints:

👉 Orsk is going under water due to “negligence.” And while, because of this “negligence,” Russia is sinking, burning, or being attacked by ISIS, Putin continues to fight imaginary “Nazis” in Ukraine, spending gigantic financial and human resources on this — those resources that could save the lives of Russians and generally make life in the country better.
👉Dams in Orsk (Orenburg region) broke through in several places at once. The Investigative Committee has already opened a criminal case under the articles “violation of security” and “negligence”: during the inspection, as noted, “numerous violations” were revealed. Three days before the breakthrough, the mayor of Orsk Vasily Kozupitsa assured that there was no threat of a breakthrough … Three days before the terrorist attack in Crocus, Putin assured that all the warnings were “provocation” and “blackmail.” The endless vicious circle of lies and incompetence inevitably leads to disaster.
👉Meanwhile, the damage from the destruction of dams in Orsk may exceed 5 billion rubles, writes the Agency with reference to documentation of the facilities. According to the dam safety declaration, in the event of a breach of structures on the left and right banks of the Ural River, the flood zone can reach 15 square meters. km. According to local authorities, the water will go away no earlier than in one and a half to two weeks. By the evening of April 6 , 4.4 thousand houses were already flooded in Orsk.
👉Most of all , I feel sorry for the animals — both domestic ones, which were simply left on a chain or locked up, and wild ones, which no one is going to save… [Yoshkin Krot]
They are valid. The government is slow in responding. The government is also doing what it does best. Response in a provincial capital will only be the same as in the capital if there are reasons to allow disasters to happen. The damage is epic.
