Below is a 100 word monologue based on a prompt from the admirable
which can be seen below. While this was originally posted to notes, I felt it deserved a more permanent home. I arbitrarily gave myself only five minutes to write 100 words and this was the result. I hope you enjoy.

“I just wanted to let you know that I loved you. Not for anything you said. Not for anything you did. Seemingly for no reason at all. And yet I couldn’t help it. I loved you.
“I loved you as the rain loves soil. As the heart longs for toil. I loved you as true and as deeply as the ocean loves blue.
“But it wouldn’t do.
“A love misplaced is a thing of anguish. A love of dust. Shed only to vanish.
“Is love misplaced love at all?
“Time still carries its loss.”

Wow 😲
This is lovely.
Simple, short, and sweet. I was mesmerised for a moment.
Trying to figure out who is talking in this one, Derek. Several possibilities come to mind. Thanks for the ponderance ...
