To everyone reading this blog who participated in our Bangalore Music City survey, thank you for believing in us and taking time to engage with our work. This report is proof that the Bangalore music community is actively thinking of its future and is ready to take the steps needed to build a more robust music scene.
We invite you to dive in, share this information with your networks as well and pave the way with us for a resilient music industry!
In one of our early blogs last year, we launched our Bangalore Music City survey, which ran from August 2023 up until February 2024. The excitement to draft the report compounded when we found out that we would be presenting this survey as part of the ‘Research in Music’ panel at the 2024 Measure of Music conference!
We were truly overwhelmed by the interaction and the positive responses we received from the live attendees of the session. A special shoutout to fellow Indian attendees who stayed up well past midnight to attend! We were also fascinated by the research presented by our co-panelists, Sarah Kloboves and Ruth Timmermans, and our moderator Andrew Mitchell's insightful questions helped us all dive deeper into the importance of primary qualitative research in music.
If you missed it, you can watch a replay of it here:
We cannot get over how intentional this conference is, and have learned so much about majority-minority curation and accessibility made possible only through a powerful virtual platform like this. Christine Osazuwa, you are truly inspiring, and we cannot wait for the next edition already!
