I left my house to get some fresh air and some sweet vitamin D from the high-in-the-sky sun.
If that’s all I got, I would’ve returned home happy.
Thankfully, this little excursion provided me with much more.
Over the past few days, I’ve been wrestling with several ideas about the creative direction I want to go in.
Lots of great ideas were floating in my ether but none of them quite sucked me in.
As I strolled in my favourite Havaianas around the local park where the grass resembled a Brazilian footballer’s hair at a summer tournament, an idea came to me that actually felt authentic.
That idea became the name of my publication.
Thoughts from a bench.
I’m a thinker. I reflect. I ponder.
I love to be outdoors.
People-watching is a fun pastime. There’s a sense of sonder.
Dogs running around, chasing their tails provide me with laughter.
Sometimes I engage a stranger in conversation.
Other times I’ll be enthralled by a beautiful sound that comes from the guy playing the kora. (a stringed instrument used extensively in West Africa)
Regardless of what’s going on around me, almost every time, I feel a sense of calm and clarity when I chill on a park bench.
I’m glad I went for a walk today.
I love the title and premise of your publication so much. I am an avid walker and find so much inspiration just paying attention while my feet carry me. Can't wait to read more of your observations.
