I sat down tired, like the others. The room was small (10 people max), but I knew it wouldn’t fill up. The Fighting, over-drinking Friday club should have left. I've never been to A&E before; I had to drain my ears (cauliflower), a short and painless procedure - it only took 4 hours of waiting.
In those four hours, I saw a lot of, let's just say, uncomfortable things. The standard 50+ year old being wheeled around with tubes and wires silently tucked under his clothes was not a fun introduction. The 30 year old, holding his stomach in pain while pleading with the nurses for painkillers, was another sad sight. His father sat there powerless.
The NHS isn't known for speed, assurance or even efficacy, however, that's what I wanted - now! However, I’m an Entrepreneur™, so I started to think - How could I solve this problem? I should get private healthcare; I quickly figured out I can’t afford it. Is there something better, I thought to myself. What if I framed the problem differently? What if I tried to seduce and date a nurse? Unethical, maybe, but I’m an Entrepreneur™, so I considered it a mutual exchange. I laughed initially However, is it a strange idea? would dating a nurse provide me with the private care I wanted.
Then she appeared.
Black hair, oval face with a body that a nurses outfit was made for. I gulped hard realizing - plan seduction was in progress. A plastic barrier, a conversational opener, and balls of steel were the only things blocking from testing my hypothesis.
Part 2 coming out next week.
