Iâm pretty sure this Outsourced community is filled with fellow writers and creatives and journalers and card senders and letter-writing-challenge participants, so I think youâre going to love this. But, really, if you handwrite anythingâ grocery lists to greeting cardsâ you probably have a particular pen you prefer. One that makes your handwriting look amazing. Or, at least, legible.
But is your pen of choice made with a one-of-a-kind, personalized blend of ink inspired by a that oil painting you found at that flea market on your backpacking trip through Europe? No? Well it can be!
One of the great delights during my trip to Japan a few years ago, was stumbling on this custom ink shop in Tokyo. One of my great regrets, was that I didnât know about it sooner and I couldnât get a custom mixing appointment before we left the next day.
I did grab a beautiful, inky blue ink before leaving, but I come to you bearing even better news:
You can order your personalized ink blend online AND you have two incredibly fun ways to design the color:
A. You can provide them with an inspiration image or a pantone color
B. You can share an image or words that capture your vision and they will take it from there!
P.S. Their sister shop has all kinds of beautiful writing tools, stationary, made-to-order notebooks and even online classes. Whether youâre shopping for a pen or not, itâs worth a visit.
P.P.S. Alternate option (also discovered on this Japan adventure): The Ohto Multi Pen switches between black and red ink and mechanical pencil simply by turning the barrel of the pen. It is amazing. In fact, this pen is so nice, we ordered it twice!
P.P.S. Please design your own custom ink. And then please send me a letter!
I wish I had known about this place when I went to Japan! Itâs my kind of dream place!! I would love to make my own ink blend there one day đš
