I was listening to Joep Beving’s Sinfonia (After Bach, BWV 248) recently and decided to make a piano-based playlist on Spotify.
If you don’t know, BWV 248 is Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, which is 3 hours long, so 4 minutes and 40 seconds is a good compromise.
The rest are all recent faves or perennial classics. As far as I’m concerned, you can’t have a modern day piano playlist without some Harold Budd or Ryuichi Sakamoto.
It’s not just solo piano. There are extra instruments - processing, synths, trumpet, etc. Benjamin Mørk mikes the mechanical part of the piano for extra effect.
Which one is by me? Downtown Buddhas. I didn’t play the piano, I just processed it.
