Project 2025: Shutter the Department of Education
Because low teacher pay and mass shootings aren't the problem. It's the "woke education cartel." (Scroll to the end to listen)
This week, we will cover several ways Project 2025 plans to turn education into Christian Nationalist religious indoctrination.
Project 2025 is a Christian Nationalist policy document authored by the far-right Heritage Foundation. They published it on their website in 2022.
But they also have a secret tactical document. We don’t know what’s in it, but we can guess by laws and actions many red states are already implementing. If you live in a red state, you’re already an early part of the world Project 2025 aims to create nationwide.
Few places reveal the contents of Project 2025’s secret tactical document more than current attacks on education. Just last week, the Tennessee state house voted to replace the entire board of a historically black college. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has signed fascist laws on everything from banning books to “Don’t Say Gay” to replacing the whole board of a small liberal arts college with his fascist cronies to outlawing DEI initiatives, all recommended by Project 2025.
From preschools to PhDs, Christo-fascists understand the importance of education: Whoever controls education shapes our collective future.
The framers of Project 2025 want to make sure we don’t have another Gen Z. They see Gen Z’s preferences for things like climate change and gender fluidity as a failure of education. If only these kids hadn’t been indoctrinated in a woke education cartel, they might have turned out differently.
According to a recent Axios poll, Gen Z is the least religious group of Americans. They are more likely to identify as LGBTQIA+ because they are resistant to labels. They care about climate change and diversity. Currently, they are more Democrat and Independent than Republican.
Because many readers appreciate data, here’s more detail from the Axios survey:
Gen Z adults are notably less likely to identify as white Christians (27%) compared to baby boomers (54%), and more likely to identify as religiously unaffiliated (33%) than every generation except millennials.
About 28% of Gen Z adults identify as LGBTQ, compared with 16% of millennials, 7% of Generation X (born 1965-1980), 4% of baby boomers (1946-1964) and 4% of the Silent Generation (1928-1945)
Multiple Republican groups are laser-focused on attracting Gen Z and Millennial voters for the 2024 election. They are already having some success.
But what about children who are too young to vote? How can Christian Nationalist Republicans mold and shape them? Destroy the federal Department of Education.
The Department of Education (the department, or ED), discussed by Lindsey Burke in Chapter 11, is a creation of the Jimmy Carter Administration. The department is a convenient one-stop shop for the woke education cartel, which—as the COVID era showed—is not particularly concerned with children’s education.

Fascists always accuse their enemies of doing what they themselves do. (This is also known as gaslighting.) This behavior is evident in the so-called Parents’ Rights movement, home to book bans, trans bans, discrimination against LGBTQIA+ children and their families, and hate groups like Moms for Liberty. Project 2025 endorses the so-called Parents’ Rights movement full-throttle.
Schools should be responsive to parents, rather than to leftist advocates intent on indoctrination—and the more the federal government is involved in education, the less responsive to parents the public schools will be. This department is an example of federal intrusion into a traditionally state and local realm. For the sake of American children, Congress should shutter it and return control of education to the states.

In the next section, “American ideals” is code for “Christian Nationalist ideals.”
Short of this, the Secretary of Education should insist that the department serve parents and American ideals, not advocates whose message is that children can choose their own sex, that America is “systemically racist,” that math itself is racist, and that Martin Luther King, Jr.’s ideal of a colorblind society should be rejected in favor of reinstating a color-conscious society. The next head of this department will have a lot to do—hopefully culminating in the department’s closure and the salutary restoration of educational control to states, localities, and parents.

Think I’m being hysterical to assert that “American ideals” means “Christian Nationalist ideals?” Read how William Wolfe defines his own movement in The Nation:
William Wolfe, one of Vaught’s CRA associates—and a former State and Defense Department official from Trump’s administration—has worked on drafting a broader mission statement for the Christian nationalist movement, according to Bucks County Beacon reporter Jennifer Cohn. That document explains the ideology of Christian nationalism as a simple expression of Christian dogmatics. “We affirm that God’s law is enduring and binding on all people at all times,” it reads in part. “We further affirm that every political thought must be taken captive to the obedience of Christ.… We deny that there is any objective standard by which to discern justice from injustice outside God’s revelation, written on the heart and most perfectly revealed in Scripture. We deny that faithful civil authorities may rule autonomously from the rule of Christ.”
Christo-fascists pretend to care about parents’ rights while ignoring the fact that parents play the biggest role in shaping a generation’s views. Fortunately, Project 2025’s endorsement of Parents’ Rights candidates has been rejected in recent elections. But again, fascists don’t care what voters want. They ignore what’s popular in favor of forcing minority rule upon all of society.
Gen Z cares about things like climate change, diversity, and LGBTQIA+ issues because many parents gave them the space and support to care. I’m lucky to know many Gen Z’ers. They give me hope for the future.
The Christian Taliban also lacks confidence........ if they really think their god and their bible is so great, then it shouldn't matter if someone was raised without it - it should be easy to get them to buy into it even if they are gen Z or agnostic or atheist.......... if your product is really is good as you claim it is, then it should sell itself without any brainwashing or indoctrination. The fact that they want to get their hands on little children to start brainwashing them is a obvious sign that what they're selling isn't real nor accepted. A logical adult is extremely unlikely to all of a sudden pick up the bible and believe in the Book of Genesis, or believe in Immaculate conception, or believe in Resurrection. Little kids though believe in the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus, that's easier to twist their little minds around.
Everyday I hate the Christian Taliban more.
If they win anymore, it will literally be the death of this country, which of course is why you are educating all of us on Project 2025.
I can hardly look at the word Patriot anymore as I know it has been bastardized and co-opted.
That William Wolfe should be immediately stripped of all power, imagine if he were a muslim, he would probably be the current dictator of Syria. That's the fervent that he talks with. Look at how the extremist Islam theocracy countries operate, many of them are shit holes still living like they were 3,000 years...... well the dictator is rich in his Palace. Williams comment: " we affirm that God's law is enduring and binding on all people at all times". Fuck......sounds like slavery.
The Republicans have been ruing public schools for several years..... but it is completely amped up in the last 2 years..... , I actually think the Department of Education needs to literally come into the state level and actually take over, that's how fucking pathetic the Republicans are running education. We should never restore control to the state level, I'm sure the South would segregate all their schools again, it is outrageous we would let any Republican state handle anything, they've already proven regardless of topic or department, they cannot lead nor can they be trusted. The Republicans need to stay the fuck away from children and all things education.
