Galaxy's Edge
The concept of "space travel" has been a mystery for generations, as it is difficult to fathom the vastness and complexity of the universe we live in. However, what if there was a door at the end of the universe that leads to another reality?
A door that opens up to an alternate reality – one where time and space are undefined boundaries waiting to be explored.
It's hard not to feel a sense of curiosity about such an idea. I myself have had this thought on multiple occasions.
Could it be possible that this door exists? And if so, how do we find it?
The thought alone sends shivers down my spine as I imagine traversing through unknown worlds and galaxies beyond our wildest dreams.
But with every thrill comes great risk - what dangers await us on the other side of this mysterious door? One thing's for sure; those who dare enter must tread carefully because once you cross into alternate realities, you can never go back. Once you’ve seen what’s on the other side it’s difficult to ever view your own reality in the same light ever again.
Let’s say this hypothetical door does exist, except it comes with a catch.
If you dare enter through it you agree to leave everything you’ve ever known and will ever know in the future behind. What if you had to strip away your old life for a completely new one that our human brains cannot even begin to fathom and comprehend? What if there is more to consciousness than we ever thought possible?
Would you do it?
It sounds to me like making a deal with the devil. Sweet and savory on the outside, yet harsh and cold on the inside. And for someone who likes to roll the dice and explore new things, even this one makes me second-guess my curiosity for adventure.
This is the type of question that might make your head spin around in circles as it is one that we are not conditioned to understand. Not conditioned to understand in the sense that we see things in relative black and white. We learn a particular way, we see things a particular way, and over time we begin to digest the very world we live in in a particular way.
So how could we ever even begin to comprehend such a change?
A change that is so vast and overwhelming that our brains might shut down altogether when we first experience it.
What if, on the other side of that door, we learn that everything we have come to know in this life is a lie?
What if we figure out that all of the things that we thought mattered in this life, didn’t have any meaning to them at all? How would that change the way that we view our own reality in the here and now? How would that change the way that we live our own life here in our current reality every single moment of every single day?
Ah, but there’s the catch.
We couldn’t know because we would’ve given up our entire existence as we see it in order to experience such a thing.
So I ask today if you ever stumbled upon the door at the end of the universe, would you politely knock? Kick that bitch down? Or walk away like nothing ever happened?
