Steve Scalise’s extremism was sufficient, but didn’t include enough Trump-loving to appeal to a majority of the House GOP.
Jim Jordan’s extremism was too public, too brash, too unmistakable. Everyone knows who Jim Jordan is. He’s so bad even sending out death threats didn’t help his chances.
Tom Emmer’s extremism wasn’t enough. He questioned the results of the 2020 election but he still voted to certify the votes. This earned him a RINO (Republican In Name Only) jab from Trump, but the allegation I’ve heard more than any others is that he’s okay with gay marriage. This is how you know they are terribly unserious people.
But Mike Johnson? Mike Johnson is the Goldilocks Zone of extremism.
