Welcome to the first instalment of Sunday practice.
Sundays are usually the days I give myself lots of ‘rolling around’ time, punctuated by some slow tunes and plenty of tea.
Today I’m sharing one of my favourite practices that helps me to meet myself where I am and it’s even gentle enough to be done in bed.
I hope you enjoy this short invitation to move, I’d love to know what arrives for you if you play with the practice. Head to the comments to share if you’d like.
Follow what feels good:
If the only invitation was to follow what feels good, how would your body move?
In this Sunday practice, there’s encouragement to be guided by your inner impulse & rhythm as you bring awareness to different areas of the body.
How would it feel to explore the possibility of your body moving you, rather than you moving your body? Our mantra is ‘easy does it’
You might want to ask the question ‘What movement wants to happen?’ and follow what arises.
Some post-movement prompts to deepen your exploration & reflection:
What movement wanted to emerge as you explored the body scan today? Small and almost imperceptible or big and bold? How can you bring the energy of that movement into your day?
What felt new or different about connecting with your body in this way?
What are some other ways you can listen & respond to your body today and offer yourself what you need?
If you'd like to move to some gentle music you might want to press 'play' on either of these songs at the same time as starting the meditation.
I am so conscious that I need to move my body more in the way it wants to that this feels perfect Sara. Thank you! 🙏💫
This was beautiful. Perfect for tuning in on day 2 of my cycle while the baby naps! Thank you. X
